ODER HIVE – A Multisensual River Journey
Multi-part project combining installation, concert, and talk
Commissioned composer: Wojtek Blecharz. Artistic direction: Claudia van Hasselt & Nicolas Wiese
Improvisation/comprovation: FrauVonDa//, Schneider TM, Łukasz Jastrubczak, Otucha Collective
In cooperation with Leibniz-Institut für Gewässerökologie und Binnenfischerei in Berlin (IGB), Intervening Arts / FU Berlin

OderHive is a vibrant music and intermedia laboratory along the Oder River — a hybrid composition of sound, science, and community. Between installation and interactive concert, a multisensory experience unfolds that allows visitors to experience the Oder not only as a geographical border region, but as a living organism.
In a fluid interplay of intermedia art, science, and local participation, new narratives emerge: about life under the water, life along the river banks, and in between. Residents, aquatic ecologists, historians, and artists form a collective research team – in exchange with the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology.
A central component is the new format senSONICtalk© — a sound-based hub for trans-disciplinary exchange. Here, artistic impulses meet scientific perspectives and spontaneous contributions from the audience. Not a conventional podium, but a lively space for thinking and listening, where the exchange of knowledge can be experienced within sound and vibration – building new interconnections of understanding. OderHive is an invitation to empathize, to reflect together, and to help shape the future together – dedicated to the invisible and unheard.
