Åland – Ahrenshoop / Research at/in/around the Baltic Sea
2022–2024 // in cooperation with Husö Biologiska Station / Åland (Finland), Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fishery (IGB)

Over a period of three years, Claudia and Nicolas explore the archipelago in the Gulf of Bothnia — 3,600 islands whose waters appear idyllic, yet are heavily polluted by extensive ferry traffic and salmon farms.
Far out, in fjord-like shelters, we experience the Baltic Sea as it once was 8,000 years ago, while in the ferry harbors, our ears are assaulted by underwater noise stress.
