MIMESIS::IMITATIO

Installation concert with Ensemble LUX:NM und Ensemble Adapter

Commissioned composers: Sandeep Bhagwati, Mithatcan Öcal and Amen Feizabadi

In this installation concert format, FrauVonDa// explores the principle of imitation in the context of contemporary composition.
The world premieres by the three composers address the mimetic interaction between musical cultures, from different perspectives of transcultural composition.

The focus is on the artistic exploration of the concept of mimesis as defined by Plato, Benjamin, and Baudrillard, and the question of reality, speculative realities, their individual perception, and distortion.
The performance space is arranged in a multidirectional way. The audience finds itself in the midst of a fluid scenario with digital and analog projections by Nicolas Wiese, which add another (visual) composer-performer aspect to the scenario.
One of the peak moments: the Skype duo improvisation by Claudia van Hasselt and Soudeh Sharhi, who joins from Tehran.
